What is stories of women and language?
“Histories of Women and Language” has as its objective the visibility and recognition of the contributions that women scholars and academics of language studies have made to this disciplinary field. This digital space is proposed as a response to the need to build, organize and disseminate relevant documentary material that allows knowing and recognizing those women who have worked and who continue to work in the construction of knowledge about language and who continue to be invisible in the academic field of higher education.
The realization of this project is proposed in a cooperative and transversal way between teachers from different areas and subjects that have language in common as an object of study, to consolidate a digital space that serves for the consultation and reconstruction of documentary material on the contributions that Women have made the academic field of language studies and that it can be used as didactic material and useful information bank for planning classes related to linguistics, literature, discourse studies and communication. Therefore, the population directly benefiting from our project are the students and professors of the undergraduate programs attached to the School of Languages of the Industrial University of Santander. Likewise, it is expected that in the future, other teachers, students and research centers in language studies and gender studies will join the project and be able to nourish the contents of the website.
